My Experience

2021 - Present

SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Thrive.app

Belfast (Hybrid)

Thrive is a B2B SaaS employee communication platform used by enterprise and public sector organisations, including the NHS, DPD, Derry Group, RiverRidge, Colas, Meath County Council and other Irish councils.

As the sole designer, I take ownership of all aspects of digital and visual design, leading creative projects across website development, social media, animations, newsletters, marketing materials and more. I played a key role in the rebranding of the Thrive website, taking ownership of its visual identity, including iconography, imagery and overall design.

I also developed bespoke sales mockups for prospective customers, showcasing how the platform could look and function using their own branding and content. As part of the customer onboarding process, I created bespoke app icons and branded graphics for organisations launching their own version of the Thrive platform. I also designed supporting promotional materials for these launches, including marketing flyers, posters and onboarding packs, helping clients introduce the platform to their workforce and encourage employee engagement.

Alongside this, I designed an interactive prototype for a proposed Pulse Surveys feature, taking ownership of the user interface, screen designs and interactions to demonstrate how organisations could gather daily feedback on employee wellbeing and workplace satisfaction.

2017-2021

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

Northern Regional College

County Antrim

During my time at NRC, I created a wide range of digital and print materials, including posters, infographics, animations, social media content, advertisements and bespoke iconography.

My work supported various departments across the college, helping communicate important information, promote events and courses, and maintain a consistent visual identity across different platforms.

Alongside my design responsibilities, I played an active role in supporting the rollout and adoption of Canvas, the college's online learning platform. I led training sessions for teaching staff, helping them become confident in using the software and understanding its features. I also developed instructional videos and step-by-step training resources to support both staff and students, making the platform more accessible and easier to navigate.

Following each training session, I created supporting documentation and user guides to reinforce what staff had learned, providing clear, practical resources they could refer back to when using the platform independently. This involved breaking down complex processes into easy-to-follow instructions and engaging visual content, helping improve user confidence and encourage effective use of the platform.

Education

2017 - 2020

Ulster University

BDes Hons Interaction Design (2:1)

Belfast

During my time at university, I developed a strong foundation in digital design, user experience and interactive media, with a focus on creating engaging and accessible digital experiences.

One of my key projects involved designing and developing a children's alphabet learning application from initial concept through to interactive prototype completion. The app was designed to accommodate different learning styles, using interactive elements, visuals and engaging activities to make learning more accessible and enjoyable. The project explored the shift towards digital learning and the growing role of mobile games in children's education, focusing on how technology can support different learning needs.

As part of my degree, I also completed a year-long placement at Northern Regional College as an Instructional Designer, where I gained valuable industry experience creating digital learning resources, supporting staff and students, and developing my skills in visual communication, accessibility and user-centred design.

2015 - 2017

Northern Regional College

Foundation Degree Interactive Media (Distinction)

Newtownabbey

During my time studying at Northern Regional College, I worked on a diverse range of creative projects covering graphic design, web design, 3D animation and motion graphics.

One of my key projects involved developing promotional materials for the opening of a new barbershop in Belfast, including a series of posters and marketing assets designed to establish a consistent visual identity and attract customers. As part of this project, I also designed and developed a website using HTML and CSS, allowing customers to explore the services available, view pricing information and submit appointment enquiries through a contact form. The website focused on creating a clear, user-friendly experience, making it easy for customers to find information and get in touch with the business.

Alongside this, I worked on various other projects allowing me to learn different design styles, animation and motion design, exploring different techniques to bring creative concepts to life. These projects gave me practical experience across multiple design disciplines, from initial research and concept development through to design and final production, while strengthening my understanding of visual communication, functionality and user experience.
